Figure Formatting

An Illustrator will adjust the size of the figure, text, layout, resolution, and file type of the figures according to the target journal’s specifications, if provided. The Illustrator will edit the text within the figure to correct typographic and spelling errors. The Illustrator may point out aspects of the figures that may remain a barrier to publication. The Illustrator will also adjust the text, alignment, and layout of tables according to the target journal’s specifications, if provided.

Figure Formatting includes:

    • Adjusting the size, typeface, text size, line weight, color format, resolution, and file type of the figures to meet the specified journal guidelines
    • Correcting typographic and spelling errors and adjusting awkward phrasing
    • Adjusting the layout and colors to improve the legibility and appearance of the figures
