Frequently Asked Questions

An infographic is a graphic visual representation that provides a snapshot of an article. Infographics provide readers with condensed and simplified information that will be viewed and shared by researchers, clinicians, the general public as well as the media.

It makes for a great promotional tool that can be shared on a variety of social media channels.

It’s a very effective means of making your article stand out and encourage readership of your work.

For manuscripts that are already published, Sage will be unable to publish your infographic alongside the manuscript. However, for manuscripts that have not yet been published, Sage can publish your infographic alongside your manuscript, once you have had the infographic peer-reviewed by the journal, incorporated the suggested changes, if any, and then submitted it to the journal to be published. We can help you incorporate the changes suggested by the journal, if any, in the Infographic.

Please let your Sage Editor know prior to acceptance of your article if you want to publish an infographic alongside your manuscript.

For published manuscripts, we will share the below tools with you for self-promotion:

  • Suggested description text for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Social media hashtags
  • Search engine optimized alt text for the infographic image
  • Link to your article DOI

For manuscripts that have not yet been published, as well as the above-listed self-promotion tools Sage can also publish your infographic with your manuscript. However, you will have to get the infographic peer-reviewed by the journal, incorporate the suggested changes, if any, and then submit it to the journal to be published. We will help you incorporate the changes suggested by the journal, if any, in the Infographic.

Get your valuable research to inspire people across borders, languages, and disciplines.
